Description: The Center for Environmental Study, founded in 1969, has as its mission "Creating Awareness for a Sustainable Future". The Center's educational and public awareness programs are innovative, science-based, and non-advocacy in nature. Explore "The Great Lakes" CD-ROM, the first title in the Caring for Planet Earth Series of interactive multimedia software. The second in the series is "Tropical Forests" and is due to be released late summer 2000. These interactive "games" are targeted for grades 3-8 and use a fun, educational game format to teach kids about the ecology, history, economy and other aspects of the region. The CD-ROMS are accompanied by a Teacher Resource Guide, which is jam-packed with classroom activities and references. Expand your understanding of OZONE with the "Ozone Action Packets". These are targeted for classroom use and are free of charge. Visit our website for other services, including research help, that are offered by the Center.
